About this guide
A public pet profile does not automatically make its pedigree public. Family history and every external profile have additional rules.
Before you start
Access to profile settings.
A saved graph and awareness of other-owner cards.
A signed-out private browser window for verification.
Steps
Review overall profile visibility.
Separately select public, partial, or owner-only family history when offered.
Save settings and the pedigree.
Use only permitted Platform search results for other owners’ pets.
Review any pending approval status.
Do not assume a recipient action screen exists; contact Support if no action is available.
Inspect the public page signed out.
Owner and guest
The owner can see drafts, manual cards, and pending items; a guest sees only a published filtered graph.
Search
A closed profile may appear anonymized by exact ID and must not be exposed by ordinary discovery.
Approval
A relationship may be pending, accepted, rejected, revoked, or expired. A complete recipient web decision flow is not confirmed.
Hide the pedigree
Close family history and verify signed out. Previously downloaded files remain with recipients.
Personal data
Do not publish contacts, addresses, signatures, or private documents.
Final checklist
Verify the root pet, duplicate cards, parent roles, ancestry direction, dates, species, and breed. For each litter, review parents, date, child count and order, and the single birth-litter rule. Do not turn an assumption into an exact fact. Check external profiles and approvals, run analysis again, and choose Save once. Read draft and publication status separately. Before sharing, verify family-history visibility and the signed-out public page. Generate a fresh PNG or PDF after important changes because an existing file will not update automatically.
What happens after saving
The Save button submits the whole working graph. After it succeeds, read the editor message: it states separately whether the published pedigree was updated or only a draft was kept for correction.
A draft is not the same as publication
Manual card and pet profile
A manual card exists only inside the pedigree and does not create a HappyPetSpace pet profile. A pet profile has an owner, HPS ID, and its own visibility settings; profile data is edited in the profile, not in the pedigree’s manual card.

Control profile and family-history visibility separately, and never publish another owner’s profile beyond the permitted scope.
