About this guide
A pedigree is built around an existing pet profile. It combines parents, ancestors, partners, litters, and offspring using HappyPetSpace profiles, manual cards, and placeholders with different trust and visibility levels.
Before you start
Sign in and open a pet profile you own or manage to edit.
Use known facts and reliable sources; unknown details may remain empty.
Guests can only view a permitted published version.
Steps
Open the pet profile and its pedigree section.
Choose Add pedigree or Edit pedigree.
Add parents and further generations from My pets, Platform, or Manual.
Add the pet’s birth litter, root-pet partners, and pair litters.
Run Analyze pedigree and review every blocking issue.
Choose Save, then check whether the result was published or kept only as a draft.
What the pedigree covers
A pet can have one father, one mother, and one confirmed birth litter. The root pet can have several partners, and a pair can have several separate litters.

sources and confirmation states;
public graph, generation table, link, PNG, and PDF.
Card sources
An owned profile is managed directly. Another owner’s profile may require approval. A manual card stays inside the graph, while a child placeholder creates no profile.
Save, approval, and publication
Saving stores the graph, approval records the affected owner’s permission, and publication updates an eligible public version. None of these proves biological ancestry outside the platform.
Documents
A pedigree number, registry, kennel, club, and attached document describe a source. One document does not automatically validate every relationship or generation.
Separate processes
A family litter does not create a breeder-business litter, listing, reservation, sale, or ownership transfer. Removing a relationship does not delete a profile.
Informational status
The graph, public page, PNG, PDF, and QR are not official breeding, club, veterinary, or legal certificates.
Final checklist
Verify the root pet, duplicate cards, parent roles, ancestry direction, dates, species, and breed. For each litter, review parents, date, child count and order, and the single birth-litter rule. Do not turn an assumption into an exact fact. Check external profiles and approvals, run analysis again, and choose Save once. Read draft and publication status separately. Before sharing, verify family-history visibility and the signed-out public page. Generate a fresh PNG or PDF after important changes because an existing file will not update automatically.
What happens after saving
The Save button submits the whole working graph. After it succeeds, read the editor message: it states separately whether the published pedigree was updated or only a draft was kept for correction.
A draft is not the same as publication
Manual card and pet profile
A manual card exists only inside the pedigree and does not create a HappyPetSpace pet profile. A pet profile has an owner, HPS ID, and its own visibility settings; profile data is edited in the profile, not in the pedigree’s manual card.
